I have personally walked in a man's footsteps embedded in the limestone of a dry riverbed in Glenrose, Texas. Interspersed with the running footsteps of this prehistoric man were the footprints of a large dinosaur. With my own eyes I have seen these prints, which were obviously made at the same time, as one of these beings was chasing the other, and they run for a long distance down the center of this old river bed. These facts do not agree with popular church teachings, nor do they agree with the currently accepted doctrine of Darwinism.
However, there is one theory of evolution, which does tend to flow, somewhat, with the scriptural record and that is that at some point, prehistoric man underwent a sudden change, which divided the species. It is, to my mind, probable considering the vast evidence of geology, and the scriptural record in Genesis, that Yahweh created man-like animals, through the evolutionary process, from the "dust", or building blocks of life, of the earth. Into some of these animals Yahweh placed fallen human spirits from the world beyond. These new beings would, of course, be at odds with the old species of beastly men, which would account for the division among them and one group killing the other. Virtually every civilization on the planet has legends and folklore of ogres, which were large manlike beasts, which were fearsome adversaries.
In Gen. 1:20-26 in the Septuagint we find, "And Yahweh said, Let the waters bring forth reptiles having life, and winged creatures flying above the earth in the firmament of heaven, and it was so. And Yahweh made great whales, and every living reptile, which the waters brought forth according to their kinds, and every creature that flies with wings according to its kind, and Yahweh saw that they were good. And Yahweh blessed them, saying, increase and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let the creatures that fly be multiplied on the earth. And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. And Yahweh said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind, quadrupeds and reptiles and wild beasts of the earth according to their kind, and it was so. And Yahweh made the wild beasts of the earth according to their kind, and cattle according to their kind, and all the reptiles of the earth according to their kind, and Yahweh saw that they were good. And Yahweh said, Let us make man according to our image and likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the flying creatures of heaven, and over the cattle and all the earth, and over all the reptiles that creep on the earth."
The Septuagint version of the Old Testament was written in 300 B.C. Yahshua and the Apostles used it.
If we read the above scriptures in plain context we find: 1. Yahweh (along with Sophia) CREATED life first in the sea; 2. Next they CREATED the creatures of the air also from the sea, (this strongly implies evolutionary processes). 3. Then they MADE the beasts of the earth; 4. Last of all they MADE man. Gen. 1:26.
The Hebrew words, which are translated "MADE" and "CREATE" have a much broader meaning in the Hebrew than what is ascribed to them in the English language. According to Strong's Hebrew dictionary, page 23, word 1254, which is translated "CREATE" in Gen. Chap. 1, the Hebrew meaning is to "create, cut, select feed (as a formative process)". The word "MADE" page 92, word 6213-14, has many meanings, some of which are, "do, have the charge of, accomplish, govern, trim, work." As should be plain to all, the words "create" and "made" do not constitute proof that man was produced from a mud doll in a moment of time, in fact they imply just the opposite.
To teach that the bible is opposed to provable science smacks of the dark ages of Catholicism. That Yahweh created man is an unassailable truth. That Yahweh used evolutionary processes is at least very strongly implied by the scriptures. It is my opinion that a truly honest heart would at least be open to discussion on this subject and thereby eliminate unnecessary division. We know there are multitude of prehistoric dinosaurs and other species of animals that have left their bones in the earth as evidence of their existence. To ignore this fact is to be dishonest to our children. We know that Godless evolution (Darwinism) is a horrible deception from the depths of Satan's mind sent to destroy the knowledge of the truth. In the first place it requires a darkened mind who ignores the necessity of something coming from nothing, which can only be accomplished by Deity, and starts with something already created, green soup and lightning for example, in order to "prove" their philosophy. Secondly, it takes blind faith to accept godless evolution. This is something Yahweh never asks His children to do. Our faith is based on Yahweh's word and provable truth that has been tried and proven by many of Yahweh's children.
You may disagree with me on this doctrine and I will love you anyway; however, ask yourself how many thousands of young inquiring minds have been turned away from Yahweh by arguments of "Christians" against provable science.
